How LUCAS' Ministries Operates

We are not a church. We are Missionary/Evangelists. While we do have a sending church and are in fellowship with others, we run our ministries independently. We have chosen to receive no financial support from any of them. Nor do we solicit funds from individuals or other organizations.

We do, however, covet all of the prayers that we can get. [We are sort of greedy that way.] So, we most definitely do solicit others to donate their prayer time. Please explore our website to know better how to pray for us more effectively, that you may also be blessed in the Lord's harvest as co-laborers together with us.

Luke 10:2  Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. [kjv]

Questions that We Are Sometimes Asked

Does LUCAS' Ministries operate under a 501c3?

LUCAS is in the business of soul-winning, teaching the Bible, visiting the sick, clothing the naked, and feeding the hungry.

James 1:27  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. [kjv]

LUCAS is not a registered (501c3) organization, a church, a registered partnership, an LLC, or any other kind of traditional business. Religious or otherwise.

LUCAS is our family name. Our family name is registered with the IRS as a business only for the purpose of having an EIN. An EIN (Employer Identification Number) is a unique nine-digit number assigned by the IRS to business entities. Think of it as a Social Security Number (SSN) for your business. It is primarily used to track tax obligations, report business income, hire employees, and separate your personal and business finances.

None of those reasons applies to us. Being retired from secular work, with residence in the Philippines and having retirement visas, while having been blessed by God with a sufficient retirement income to live on, and support our ministries, we could technically get along without having applied for an EIN.

However, international phone communication with our immediate family, praying church families, friends, and financial institutions would be very expensive (for both parties) without having a legal EIN. Especially with long hold times on the phone.

So, after many hours of talking with several people at the IRS, including their legal department, I was finally able to be issued an EIN without all of the usual business reasons. With it, I was able to find a business service provider in the Philippines that has issued me three phone numbers with New York State area codes. I can now call and receive U.S. calls overseas as if I were still in the United States.

I am able to freely make and receive U.S. calls without international fees, as well as receive and leave voicemails. However, for now, texting and other messaging services are off the table. My new number can be found in the 'How to Contact Us' menu on this website.

If you wish to communicate with texts, pictures, videos, and the like, you will need to do it through Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. My old number will become inactive as of June 2026.

Does LUCAS' Ministries Receive Wages and/or Financial Support?

LUCAS' Ministries charges those we are trying to reach absolutely nothing. In charity, we look for payment not in this life but in the next. While we do occasionally receive unsolicited donations, pretty much all of those funds go for food, clothing, medicines for the people we minister to, or for event costs. Unless otherwise designated, we bear the cost for the services that we provide from our own funds and draw no salary from our ministry.

Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Does LUCAS' Ministries have SMS, MMS, or IMA Messaging Available?

SMS (Short Message Service):

It is the standard technology used to send and receive text-only messages between mobile devices. SMS is limited to 160 characters per message. [We avoid using it]

MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service):

This is the upgrade to SMS. It allows folks to send images, audio, and video, and has no strict character limit. [Not Available]

IMA (Instant Messaging Apps):

Apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, or Messenger rely entirely on a Wi-Fi or mobile data connection to send messages. [Our Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp are active]

Does LUCAS' Ministries Have Any Mailing Addresses?

We do maintain a mailing address in the United States. However, it would not be very useful to you as far as getting any mail to us. We only plan to visit the States yearly at best.
